The Seefeld Olympic Region has been well-known internationally as a top destination for football training camps since 1988. Between 10 and 14 amateur and professional teams from all over Europe such as Lazio Roma, Olympiakos Piraeus, Galatasaray Istanbul or SV Hamburg enjoy returning regularly to the region to prepare for important tournaments.

The ideal altitude of the plateau at 1,200 m, offering ideal climatic conditions, top hotels and three football pitches maintained to the highest standard are just some of the reasons why teams such as the Czech and Saudi Arabian national teams (who came to prepare for the World Cup in 2006) come to Seefeld. The UEFA has put forward the Seefeld Olympic Region as the "Official Team Base Camp" for the European Football Championships in 2008. The participating teams will decide on their Base Camps for EURO 2008 in December 2007.

Of course the Seefeld Olympic Region is hoping to welcome one of the teams - and the chances are very good.
