The Marienbrücke (Marie's Bridge)
The walk to this work of art nestling in a unique natural habitat is well signposted and easy to manage even for children. You have a wonderful view of the castle and at the same time can admire the 45 m high waterfall. Practical information:
You can visit Schwangau without difficulty by car, there is enough parking available. You reach the castle on foot, by romantic horse-drawn carriage or in a minibus. You can only visit Neuschwanstein castle by guided tour. You should only attempt the round tour if you are good on your feet as you will have to climb a total of 165 steps up and 181 steps down. Tours in several languages and also audio-guided tours are on offer. Tips for the disabled: Special guided tours for wheelchair users and Zimmer frame users.
